Intento suicida reiterado en la adolescencia. Presentación de un
caso

RESUMEN
Se presenta el caso de una adolescente atendida en el Policlínico
de Especialidades del Hospital Pediátrico Norte por intento suicida
reiterado, quien era objeto de burlas en la escuela a causa de malformación
congénita de la mama derecha, a tal punto que constituyó
un evento vital psicotraumatizante, el cual conjuntamente con los rasgos
de su personalidad dieron lugar a la conducta suicida. El estudio epidemiológico
reveló antecedentes familiares de enfermedades psiquiátricas
y se constató timidez, inmadurez, inestabilidad y reacción
excesiva al estrés, así como coeficiente intelectual normal
bajo; aspectos que determinaron el origen de su comportamiento. Los médicos
de atención primaria deben actuar oportunamente sobre los factores
de riesgo suicida, sobre todo en los adolescentes para así evitar
en gran medida, tanto la morbilidad por intento como la mortalidad por
suicidio.

SUMMARY
A case of an adolescent who was attended in the Specialities Policlinic
from Northern Pediatric Hospital due to suicide attempt repeared is presented.
She was suffering the scoffs by her comrades in school because of the congenital
malformation in the right breast, and this constituted a psychotraumatic
vital event, which together with the features of her personality contributed
to the suicide behavior. The epidemiological study revealed family baekgrounds
of psychiatry diseases and the timidity, inestability and excesive response
to the stress, as well as low normal intellectual coefficient were confirmed;
these aspects determined the origen of her behavior. The physician of primary
health care must act conveniently on the suicide risk factors, specially
in teh adolescents in order to avoid greatly both morbidity for attempt
and the mortality for suicide.
